Halloween Party Ideas & Suggestions
Throw a great Halloween party this season.
Throwing a Halloween Party
It’s always a sad year when a person becomes too old to
trick or treat. We all grow up thinking that there is
nothing more the Halloween than going out at night a bringing back
a stockpile of candy. But now it’s finally happened, you’ve crossed
the age of no return and now can’t go out anymore. Just face it, you’re
in high school now (or maybe you’re the parents of high schoolers)
and you just cant go out and knock doors anymore.
That doesn’t mean that Halloween can’t be fun anymore. As a matter of fact, it’s just the opposite. Now is your time to shine by throwing a Halloween part at your house. But if you are going to do this, you’re going to want to do it right. Nothing can be more embarrassing than having a 1000 friends and fellow peers show up to your house, get bored, leave, and talk about how boring your party was for the next 3 weeks.
That’s why we’ve written a few ideas out to help get you started. A successful party will get your good reputation around. So let’s start from the very beginning.
Make invitations. In every high school there are those who you don’t want at your house; a select few irritating or offensive people that will just go to cause trouble of some kind. DON’T invite them!!! Just invite the people that you know or want at your party.
Now obviously any good Halloween party has to have music and a room big enough to dance in. Make sure there is room inside your house for this. If there isn’t, it would be ideal to set something up in your back yard. Make sure the music generally follows a Halloween theme, though not every song has to be seasonal. Make sure to set up lights and strobes. A smoke machine will also be a good idea. We highly recommend playing Alice Cooper’s “Feed My Frankenstein” at the peak of the dance. Nothing is creepier than Alice Cooper.
Now not everyone likes to dance, so make sure to have some other options for those who don’t like to get down. Activities and games are the best. Fill a jar with candy corn or some other seasonal candy and have a guess how many are inside game. You can also provide pumpkins and have a pumpkin carving competition. Let everyone know that there is a costume competition and you can even set a specific theme. Of course all competition winners should be supplied with a prize.
You can also have a bob for apples. If you have enough space near your house and fires are permitted, it could be a great idea to build a small bonfire and tell spooky stories. This might work better if you tell everyone beforehand to come up with a story to tell.
Well these are just a few great ideas that we recommend when throwing a Halloween party. Be sure to check out the recipe page so you can also provide some awesome Halloween foods and snacks. Have a great party.
